Earlier this month, Dr. Elizabeth Barbieri and ORM Genomics Director, Emily Mounts, held a free, educational webinar on how preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) can be used to prevent the transmission of hereditary cancer syndromes. PGD is the testing of embryos for a specific genetic or chromosomal condition.
We offered two opportunities to participate in the webinar titled, Stop the Cycle of Hereditary Cancers, which took place on Wednesday, November 8th and Wednesday, November 15th.
These webinars were designed for patients and healthcare providers and topics included why patients choose to do PGD for hereditary cancer syndromes, examples of hereditary cancer syndromes for which PGD is possible, patient stories and testimonials, and more.
